What do you do for a living? I am a parts manager for a VW dealership,a Dad and Husband.
When did you start collecting? I started collecting about 12 years ago when I got my first 2 builds. I bought a tri-power and a skyway, my childhood dream bikes from some kids for real cheap when I was working at a bike shop, I put those bikes away 'cause I knew I'd do something with them later. I also got a 85 Quadangle from the same shop new in '94, rode it hard and still have that too
What originally got you started? Well, I always wanted certain bikes and I've always been into and around bikes so when I pulled the frames that i had in storage out, it was only natural for me to build them up. But it didn't stop with those two.
How long have you been collecting? I've been seriously collecting for about 8 months now.
What is your favorite bike to collect? I have a spot inside me for Haro's but I always liked old race bikes. Maybe because I never raced and all the racer kids bikes were always nice and shiny. I don't know. I like all bikes.
What is your current restoration project? I've been slowly collecting all the parts needed to re-build my 85 Quadangle. It's going to be all chrome. I'm also building a "guess what" green Streebeat for my wife.
How many bikes do you have in your collection? In my collection I currently have 6 rebuilt complete bikes, 2 new school bikes, numerous mountain bikes and road bikes (me and my wife) and my 2 year old already has 2 also.
Is there any one bike that brings back special memories? My 86 green master brings back a lot of memories, since thats the first bike i ever bought new. i built it up from the F/F when i worked at a shop when I was 14
Is there a bike that you don't have that you still want to build? I would really like to get my hands on a Mongoose Californian RAD style.
What was your first restore? I haven't fully restored anything yet. My 2 Haro's and the Dyno already had the paint jobs done when i got hold of them. The others are still original finish. The first restore will be the quad
What was your very first bike that you can remember riding as a kid? Asides from the sears brand "eagle 1" and the Randor i got from a friend, my first real ride was a 83 performer. Oh I would like to build one of those too!
Any last comments you would like to say to every one? Just that the BMX community from BITD, is still just as cool now as it was back then, I'm glad i met up with VBMX and BMX FREESTYLER
