Take a virtual up close tour of Chips White Haro!!!!
Daily Rider
My green Master was the first bike I restored.
Purchased as just a frame, it took about 3
months to complete, I always wanted a green
Master so that was built as a rider.
My wife's bike
My wife's bike was one I wanted to do in light pink but
could only get in neon at the time, since then I have
found the correct color and will redo it in the future.
That's the bike we let our guest ride occasionally. All of
them have Bullseye hubs, I remember the first time I
rode a set and never forgot how smooth they were.
My son's bike
My son's bike is actually the second bike I built for him. I
bought a repainted orange 87 master by mistake and he
wanted it, so we built it up with coaster mag wheels. After
his riding progressed, I gave him the neon orange 85
frame for his 7th birthday. When he was comfortable with
the hand brakes, we built up a set of z-rims in the colors
he wanted.
The white bike was built as an NOS replica of one I
purchased new in 85-86, it came with the gyro so I
guess it had to be 86, but all other components were
85. It originally came with blue Peregrine mags, but
that's the one item I can't seem to find, so I put some
blue z-rims on it till I can locate a set or a rear blue
mag.
The 82 Freestyler frame is the second
one I've had, I intend to get it
rechromed and keep this one as I
kinda regret getting rid of the other
one I had.
The red Torker is being done because I wanted a red
bike as a sample of my powder coat work, and I just
couldn't see doing a master that color. The Torker
was the logical bike to do. I also started it because I've
wanted to build a race bike and owned one back in
the day.
All of the frame sets I have
are just a result of my
obsessive disorder to buy
every one I see for sale. I
just can't help it. I've sold
quite a few, but not as
many as I've bought. I've
tried to limit myself to only
that year and model
because I know what would
happen if I had to have
them all and I don't have
the funds to do that.
It's very important to set limits
for yourself with this hobby,
otherwise you look at it one
day and realize you have to
take great losses to get it
under control.
